Is Catholicism a False Religion? Is it a Cult, according to the Bible?

The most dangerous problem with the Roman Catholic Church is that they do NOT believe that faith alone in Christ is sufficient for salvation. The Bible clearly tells us that when we receive Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord by faith, we are SAVED! Faith in Jesus’ work on the cross . . . our faith, God’s grace, brings us salvation. It is a GIFT from God, when we believe God (1 John 5:10-13) and accept His only begotten Son to save us (John 3:15-16).

John 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (KJV)
John 3:3-8 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. John 3:15-18 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. The Roman Catholic Church denies and rejects this TRUTH in the Word of God! The official position of the Roman Catholic Church is that a person must believe in Jesus Christ PLUS be baptized PLUS receive the Eucharist (the Christian ceremony honoring the Last Supper, in which bread and wine are consecrated and consumed) . . . PLUS other rites or sacraments PLUS obey the decrees of the Roman Catholic Church PLUS perform worthy works PLUS not die with any mortal sins PLUS etc., etc., etc.

The Catholic departure from the Bible, and its opposing the Bible on the most crucial of issues, SALVATION, means that YES, Catholicism is a false religion according to the BIBLE!

Is the Catholic Church a cult? A cult is “a religious group that denies one or more of the fundamentals of Biblical Truth.” So . . . YES! The Catholic Church is a cult according to the Bible! See Cults.
