First, what is a "heresy"? A heresy according to the Holy Word of God is a belief or opinion contrary to what God states in the Bible.

*****Of all the human traditions (commandments of men Mat.15:9) taught and practiced by the Roman Catholic Church, which OPPOSE the Bible, the most ancient are the prayers for the dead and the sign of the Cross. Both began 300 years after Christ.
Ecc. 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. (KJV) . . . When a person dies, their soul returns to God Who gave it. He will NOT make ANY mistakes! The body will remain in the grave until the resurrection (Dan.12:2). Praying for the dead does NO good whatsoever! As for the ‘sign of the cross’ . . . show me one place in the Bible where we are told to do this! It is NOT in there!

*****Veneration (worship) of, and prayer to angels and dead saints started in AD 375.
Even though there is no specific place which clearly tells, “You shall not pray to angels,” it is very clear that we are NOT to pray to angels or dead saints. Prayer is an act of worship. And, just as angels reject our worship (Rev.22:8-9), so too, they would also reject our prayers. Offering our worship or prayer to anyone except Almighty God is IDOLATRY (Ex.20:3).

*****The Mass, as a daily celebration, adopted AD 394.
The Catholic mass is BLASPHEMY! The crucifixion of Jesus Christ happened ONCE! Jesus died ONCE for the sins of the whole world (Heb.7:27; 9:12,28; 10:10). Jesus did NOT die MANY times, as portrayed in the Catholic mass. They call Jesus Christ, "The Victim" and the priest supposedly has the power to slay Him on Catholic altars over and over again. They supposedly call Jesus out of Heaven, change Him into a piece of bread and some wine, so that the people can eat and digest His literal flesh and drink His literal blood . . . this is the mass. That would be cannibalism! The Catholic mass is NOT remembering the Blessed Sacrifice of Jesus (as taught in Luke 22:19-20). The Catholic bread and wine are supposedly "transubstantiated," or changed into flesh and blood. Roman Catholic heresy claims the whole body, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ are in the bread that they eat. Blasphemy! Heresy!
THE PRECIOUS SACRIFICE OF JESUS CHRIST WAS A ONE TIME EVENT.

*****The worship of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and the use of the term, "Mother of God", as applied to her, originated in the Council of Ephesus in AD 431.
Did you know that Roman Catholics call Mary the "Queen of Heaven"? Did you know that the Bible speaks about the queen of heaven? The Queen of Heaven is/was a pagan Babylonian goddess, a devil.
Jeremiah 7:18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. (KJV) . . . Also see Jer.44:17-19. Israel provoked God to anger. Catholics call THEIR Mary the Queen of Heaven. This is absolutely NOT the Mary of the Bible. Catholics: #1. Pray to Mary. #2. Turn to Mary for help with sin. #3. Believe she was born sinless just like Jesus (Immaculate Conception) . . . it should be deception! #4. Believe she never saw physical death (assumption of Mary). #5. Believe she is co-redeemer, which is utterly ridiculous! She herself admitted SHE needed a Saviour! (Luke 1:45-55).

*****Priests began to dress differently from the laity AD 500.

*****Extreme Unction (the last rites) AD 526.
Thank God, that salvation is NOT determined by confessing all sins to a priest the moment before death. Salvation is determined by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:16). Because of His mercy and grace, God allows for the decision of faith to be made up to the point of death. BUT . . . this must be a personal and genuine receiving of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Eph.2:8-9). Complying with a ritual before death has absolutely NO determining a person’s salvation and eternal destiny. Only FAITH in Jesus Christ determines our salvation!

*****The doctrine of Purgatory was first established by Gregory the Great AD 593.
WHERE are the dead??? This is a subject of much controversy . . . BUT there is absolutely NO controversy at all IF you believe the Bible. It is very simple! Those who are saved by the precious Blood of Jesus (1 Pet;1:18-19) go to Heaven and the unsaved go to Hell (Mat 25:41,46; John 3:36; 1 John 5:11-12; Rev.20:15). There is NO other destination! It is either Heaven OR Hell. Purgatory is a LIE, a damnable heresy (2 Pet.2:1).

*****The Latin language, as the language of prayer and worship in churches, was also imposed by Pope Gregory I. 600 years after Christ.
The Holy Word of God forbids praying and teaching in an unknown tongue. (1 Cor.14:9). And the Bible teaches that we pray to God alone. In the primitive (baby) church, prayers were never directed to Mary or to dead saints. This began in the Roman Catholic Church and is WRONG!

*****The Papacy is of pagan origin. Was Peter the first pope?
Jesus did NOT appoint Peter to the headship of the apostles and He forbid any such idea (Luke 22:24-26; Eph. 1:22-23; Col. 1:18; 1 Cor.3:11).
Was Peter the first pope? The answer, according to the Bible is a clear and definite NO! NO! NO! WHERE does Peter claim authority or control over the other apostles. NOWHERE in his writings (1 and 2 Peter) did the apostle Peter claim any special role, authority, or power over the church. NOWHERE in the Bible does Peter, or any other apostle, state that their apostolic authority would be passed on to successors. Yes, the apostle Peter did have a leadership role among the disciples. Yes, Peter did play a vital role in the early spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Acts chapters 1-10). Yes, Peter was the “rock” that Christ predicted he would be.
Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (KJV)
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter. . . we must look at this verse verycarefully. There are some who say that the church was built on Simon Peter. I disagree. Some others say that Christ is building His church upon the confession that Simon Peter made. Again, I disagree.
And upon this rock will I build my church . . . on what ROCK did Jesus build His church? WHO is the Rock? The Rock is Christ. The church is built upon Christ. We have Simon Peter's own clarification of this. 1 Peter 2:4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, (KJV) And what did Isaiah say? Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. (KJV) What did the apostle Paul say? 1 Cor. 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (KJV)
The church is built upon Christ; He is the Foundation, NOT Peter! Christ Jesus is the Stone, and He says on this Rock He will build His church. The church at that time was still in the future. There was NO church in the Old Testament because the church did not exist until after the death, resurrection and ascension of Christ, and the sending of the Holy Spirit (John 14:16, 26; 16:7). There could NOT have been a church until all of these things had taken place. "I will build my church" . . . this was future.
And the gates of hell shall not prevail against it . . . the "gates of hell" refers to death. The word used for Hell is the Greek word Hades, the Sheol of the Old Testament, which refers to the unseen world and means "death." The gates of death shall not prevail against Christ's church. One of these days the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout (1 Thes.4:16). That shout will be like the voice of an archangel and like a trumpet because the dead in Christ are to be raised.

Christ does NOT say, upon thee Peter, but upon this rock, referring to something different from Peter; for although Peter’s name means a rock, or stone, and there may be some suggestion to it; for Peter is called so by the Lord because of his trust and confidence in the Lord, on Whom the church was built (Eph.2:20). It is true, Peter may be called the foundation, as were the rest of the twelve apostles of the Lamb (Rev.21:14). BUT . . . Peter had absolutely NO preeminence over the rest of the apostles. He did NOT accept this, nor was it granted; nor would it ever have been planned by Christ, for He often showed His resentment at such a spirit and conduct. True, Peter, James and John (Mat.17:1; Mk.5:37; 9:2; 13:3; 14:33; Lk.8:51; 9;28) had some particular favors bestowed on them by Jesus; such as the raising of Jairus's daughter, and at the transfiguration of Christ on the mount, and with Him in the garden; and Jesus appeared to Peter alone after His resurrection, before He was seen by the rest of the disciples (Lk.24:34) . . . BUT, in some things Peter was inferior to them, for he alone denied his Lord and Master, they did not (Mat.26:75); and upon another account is called “Satan” by Jesus (Mat.16:23), which the others never were; not to mention other infirmities of his, which show he is not really the solid rock after all. Peter, as an apostle, had NO successor in his office; neither was he the bishop of Rome; nor was he ever the pope of Rome. TRUE Christianity is based on the Christ as the Rock, Christ is a Rock that is higher than they, where they (and we) find safety in times of distress, and the shadow of which is refreshing to them. The “church” was NOT in the Old Testament, but the ROCK was! The Rock is Christ: (Ex.17:6; Num.20:8,11; Deut.32:4,15,18,30,31;1 Sam.2:2; 2 Sam.22:2-3,32,47; 23:3; Ps.18:2,31,46; 28:1; 31:2-3; 42:9; 61:2,6,7; 71:3; 78:35; 89:26; 92:15; 94:22; 95:1; Isa.8:14; 28:16; Mat.7:24-25; 16:18; Lk.6:48; Rom.9:33; 1 Cor.10:4; 1 Pet.2:8) 1 Cor. 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. These TRUTHS about Peter in no way give support to the falsehood that Peter was the first pope, or that he was the “supreme leader” over the apostles, or that his authority would be passed on to the bishops of Rome. Peter himself points us all to the true Shepherd and Overseer of the church, the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls. There is NO mention in Scripture, neither in history, that Peter ever was in Rome, much less that he was pope there for 25 years.

*****The kissing of the Pope's feet.
It was a pagan custom to kiss the feet of emperors. The Word of God forbids such practices. I know for a fact that Peter was NOT a pope. He would NEVER have allowed this! Acts 10:25 -26 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. 26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. (KJV)
Such a practice is called IDOLATRY in the Bible, and is severely condemned (Ex.20:3-5).

*****Canonization of dead saints, first by Pope John XV about AD 995.
The word saints is found 96 times in the Bible. EVERY believer and follower of Christ is called a saint in the Bible (Rom.1:7; Col.1:2).

*****The celibacy (no marriage, no sex) of the priesthood was decreed by Pope Hildebrand, Boniface VII about AD 1079.
Jesus imposed NO such rule, neither did any of the apostles. Peter was a married man, and the apostle Paul says that bishops were to have wife and children. (Mat.8:14-15; 1 Tim.3:2,5,12). Consider the sexual immorality in the priesthood it the past years because of this rule.

*****The Rosary, or prayer beads was introduced by Peter the Hermit, in the year AD 1090. Copied from Hindus and Mohammedans.
The counting of prayers or the repetition of prayers is a pagan practice and is absolutely condemned by Christ Jesus. Matthew 6:7-8 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. (KJV)

*****The sale of Indulgences, commonly regarded as a purchase of forgiveness and a permit to indulge in sin.
Indulgences became a prominent Catholic practice as early as the 1200's. Any devoted Catholic parishioner could pay money to the church in exchange for the forgiveness of sins. How utterly ridiculous! NOWHERE in the Bible does it say a person can BUY forgiveness of sins and NOWHERE in the Bibel does it say we can BUY a permit to sin! The Word of God tells us SALVATION (forgiveness of sin and eternal life in Heaven) are FREE of charge to WHOSOEVER!

John 3:15-16 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (KJV)

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. (KJV)

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV)

Around 1505, Pope Julius II began the laborious project of creating St. Peter's Basilica and commissioning Michelangelo to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Both of these designs were very expensive and construction was still under way when Leo X became pope in 1513. The pope was in great need of money to complete the basilica; so he decided to promote the indulgences in order to help pay for it. This practice was not accepted by all, especially Martin Luther. He argued that only God could forgive the sins of those who put all of their faith into Jesus, and NOT into indulgences. But Luther found out that many of his parishioners felt no need to come to church after they had purchased indulgences. To Martin and his followers, the sale of indulgences was a corrupt practice that had NOTHING to do with divine forgiveness, and was aimed at financially benefiting the pope and the papal headquarters. His disagreement with this practice led to Luther's well known document, The 95 Theses.

NO one can BUY forgiveness of sin! NO one can buy a permit to sin! Only the righteousness of Jesus (1 Cor.1:30), applied to a person can justify that person in God’s eyes (Rom.5:1). WHY are people so stupid?

*****The Bible commands us to confess our sins directly to God, NOT to a sinful priest (Rom.3:10;23).
1 John 1:8-9 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV) . . . A Catholic priest CANNOT forgive your sins! ONLY God can forvive you!

*****The Bible forbidden to laymen and placed in the Index of forbidden books by the Council of Valencia;
JESUS COMMANDED THAT THE SCRIPTURES SHOULD BE READ BY ALL. (Mat.22:29; Mark 12:10; John 5:39).

*****The Scapular was invented by Simon Stock, and English monk.
It is a piece of brown cloth, with the picture of Mary and supposed to contain supernatural virtue to protect from all dangers those who wear it on naked skin.
That is fetishism . . . idolatry!

*****The Catholic Church forbade the cup to the laity, by instituting the communion of one kind in the Council of Constance.
The Bible commands us to celebrate the Lord's Supper with unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine. (Mat.26:26-28; Mark1422-24; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Cor.11:23-26). We are to celebrate the Lord's death!

*****The doctrine of Purgatory was proclaimed as a dogma of faith by Council of Florence. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia: Purgatory is a place or condition of temporal punishment for those who, departing this life in God's grace, are not entirely free from venial faults, or have not fully paid the satisfaction due to their transgressions.
To summarize this, Purgatory is a supposed place that a Christian’s soul goes to after death to be cleansed of the sins that had not been fully satisfied during life.
Does this doctrine of Purgatory agree with the Bible? ABSOLUTELY NOT! NO way! Jesus died to pay the penalty for ALL of our sins. There is NOT one word in the Holy Word of God that teaches the damnable heresy (2 Pet.2:1) of purgatory. The precious Blood of Jesus Christ (1 Pet.1:18-19) cleanseth us from all sins. (John 3:16,18,36; 5:24; 6:40,47,51; 10:27-30; 11:26; 12:44; 20:31; Mark 16:16; Rom. 5:1,9-10; 8:1,16-17,28-30; 1 Thes.5:9; 1 Pet.1:2-5; 1 John 1:7-9; 2:1-2; 5:1,10-13).
Purgatory is understood by Catholics as a place of cleansing in preparation for Heaven because they do not recognize that because of Jesus’ Sacrifice, we are already cleansed, declared righteous, forgiven, redeemed, reconciled, and sanctified. What a tremendous Saviour we have! Thank You Jesus!

*****The doctrine of 7 Sacraments affirmed in AD 1439.
The Bible tells us that Christ established only TWO ordinances, Baptism and the Lord's Supper. (Mat. 26:26-28; 28:19-20).

*****The Council of Trent, held in the year AD 1545, declared that Tradition is of equal authority with the Bible.
Tradition means human teachings, the commandments of men (Mat.15:9). The Pharisees believed the same way, and Jesus bitterly condemned them (Mat.23), for by teaching human tradition, they nullified the commandments of God. (Mat.15:9; Mark 7:7; Col. 2:8; Rev.22:18).

*****The apocryphal books were added to the Bible also by the Council of Trent about AD 1546.

*****The Creed of Pope Plus IV was imposed as the official creed 1560 years after Christ and the apostles.
TRUE Christians keep the Holy Scriptures as their statement of belief. Therefore their doctrine is 1500 years older than the doctrine of Roman Catholics. (Gal.1:2-9).

*****The Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary was proclaimed by Pope Pius IX
in the year AD 1854.
The Bible states that ALL people are sinners (Ps.14:3; 52:3; Isa.53:6; 64:6; Rom.3:10,23), including Mary . . . with just ONE exception, that being the Man, Jesus Christ. Mary herself admitted that she needed a Saviour (Luke 1:46-47). The Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary is blasphemy and the sign of the apostasy and of the antichrist predicted by the apostle Paul. (2 Thes.2:2-12; Rev. 13:5-8; 17:1-9;).

The Ave Maria (Hail Mary), part of the last half in AD 1508. It was completed 50 years afterward and finally approved by Pope Sixtus V, at the end of the 16th century.
This doctrine was first invented by the Council of Ephesus in the year 431. This is a heresy and is contrary by Mary's own words. (Luke 1:46-49; John 2: l-11).
In the year 1950 the last doctrine was proclaimed by Pope Pius XII, the Assumption of the Virgin Mary 1950.

CONCIDER . . .
What will the next INVENTION of the Roman Catholics be! They SAY they do not change; but that is all they do! They keep inventing new teachings (damnable heresies, Peter's words, 2 Pet.2:1) that OPPOSE the Holy Word of God! They keep on keeping on practicing rites, rituals and ceremonies taken from paganism (heathens). Someone has said that 75% of the rites and ceremonies of the Roman Church are of pagan origin. True or not, I cannot say.

DAMNABLE HERESIES are doctrines and practices which OPPOSE the Bible. They are also called "human traditions" (Mat.15:2) or "doctrines of men" (Col.2:22) or “commandments of men” (Mat.15:9; Mark 7:7). Both Peter and Paul predicted and warned that in the later times "false teachers" would rise within the Church and bring in "damnable heresies" (2 Pet.2:1) and "doctrines of devils" (1 Tim.4:1). Jesus rebuked the Pharisees in Matthew 23, for they transgressed the commandments of God by keeping their traditions. “in vain,” (Mat.15:3,9). According to the Holy Word of god, the real heretics are the Roman Catholics and the true established Christians are the Evangelical Christians.
Dear ones, the Word of God commands us to get out of Babylon (the wicked world), saying: Rev.18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. (KJV)
TRUE Christians will remain confident, loyal and steadfast to their faith in Jesus Christ as taught in the Bible, and they will heed the WARNING of the apostle Paul: Gal. 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
