The Modern Apostate Ecumenical Movement

The foundation for this ecumenical trend has been laid and built upon over many years. We saw the beginning of institutional ecumenism in the 1960's, with the World Council of Churches, which was mostly liberal mainline Protestant denominations who DENIED such important doctrines as the inerrancy of Scripture and a literal, bodily resurrection of Christ. For years, Evangelicals distanced themselves from this ecumenism movement because of the unsound theology of the groups involved.

BUT . . . the devil does not quit . . . today the spirit of COMPROMISE has invaded even Evangelicals. The recent Catholic-Evangelical accord is an example of such a compromise. Evangelicals compromised crucial doctrines such as justification by faith alone and the sufficiency of Scripture in order to unite with Roman Catholics on issues such as abortion and school prayer. STAY AWAY!!!

Compromising the Truth

The pure preaching from God's Holy Word and a bold and confident stand on Truth are on the way out! What is taking place is an expansion (adding to) of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and a redefining of what it means to be a Christian. Ecumenism seems to have come to mean reducing all elements of faith to the lowest common denominator. God's Word is neglected, man's knowledge is valued above the Truth of God, a false, selfish faith is encouraged, and sound doctrine and correction (chastisement) are despised as being divisive, unloving and troublesome.

Totally ignoring the Scriptures, many well-known evangelical leaders today claim that a concern for true doctrine causes division and therefore should be avoided for the sake of love and unity among the brethren. The truth is, that people do NOT want to hear the Truth and IF a preacher preaches the TRUTH (sin, repemtance, God’s wrath, judgment, Hell), the people will NOT return to fill his collection plate! My friend, the Bible could not be more specific in its opposition to the new way of teaching. I think that Jesus taught more on Hell than any other subject. WHY? Because he did NOT want anyone to go there! He is NOT willing that any should perish (1 Pet.3:9).

Modern Christian Ecumenical Movements

Even a quick review of what has taken place in the Church during the last 25 years will reveal a horrible undermining of the faith, which is precisely as the Bible warns (Mat.7:21-23; 24:4,11,24; 2 Thes.2:3-5). I truly believe that the most effective enemies of Jesus Christ are those who CLAIM to be Christians. They PROFESS with their mouth they are Christians, but they do not POSSESS Christ in their heart! This counterfeit Christianity is growing in leaps and bounds! BEWARE!!! Stay CLOSE to God’s Word!

You CANNOT believe Christ Jesus obtained our redemption through His Blood and also believe redemption is being accomplished through Catholic rituals.

You CANNOT believe salvation is by faith and "not of works" and at the same time believe that good works earn salvation for you.
