Is There Really A Hell?

YES!!! There IS a Hell!!!

Have you ever wondered if there is truly a place called Hell? Have you ever wondered "Will I go there?" IF you don’t KNOW you are going to Heaven, then chances are, you will go to Hell.

HELL IS VERY CLEARLY DESCRIBED IN GOD’S WORD

Everlasting punishment. Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. [KJV]
Everlasting fire. Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:(KJV)
Everlasting burnings. Isaiah 33:14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? [KJV]
A furnace of fire. Matthew 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. [KJV] Matthew 13:50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. [KJV]
A lake of fire. Rev. 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. [KJV]
Fire and brimstone. Rev. 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: [KJV]
Unquenchable fire. Matthew 3:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. [KJV]
Devouring fire. Isaiah 33:14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? [KJV]
Outer Darkness. Matthew 22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. [KJV] Matthew 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. [KJV]
Prepared for the devil. Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: [KJV]
Devils are confined in Hell, until the judgment day. 2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; [KJV] Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. [KJV]
Punishment of, is eternal. Rev. 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. [KJV] (Also Isaiah 33:14).
The wicked shall be turned into. Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. [KJV]
Human power cannot preserve from. Ezekiel 32:27 And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living. [KJV]
The body suffers in. Matthew 5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.(KJV)
The soul suffers in.Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (KJV)
The wise avoid. Proverbs 15:24 The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath. [KJV]
Try to keep others from Hell. Proverbs 23:14
Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. [KJV] Physical discipline may well save someone from Hell. Jude 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. [KJV] Others may be rescued by snatching them from the flames of judgment, while others you may need to show mercy, being very careful that you aren't contaminated by their sins.
The lifestyle of the wicked leads to. Proverbs 5:5
Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. [KJV] Her/his wicked lifestyle leads to death; her/his steps lead straight to Hell. Proverbs 9:18 But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell. [KJV] People don't realize how many are now in Hades awaiting judgment that shall send them to Hell.
The beast, false prophet, and the devil shall be cast into Hell. Rev. 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. [KJV] Rev. 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. [KJV]
llustrated. Isaiah 30:33 For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it. [KJV]

Have you REALLY read the above Scriptures? This is God speaking to you through His Holy and unerring Word. Does it not say that there is indeed a Hell? God CLEARLY describes it for us. He does NOT want ANYONE to go there, that is why He describes it in such graphic details. Please believe Him. He NEVER lies.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. [KJV] . . . The Lord isn't really being slow about His promise to return, as many people think. He is being patient, for He does not want anyone to perish, so He is giving more time for everyone to repent. Some people say that Hell cannot be both an everlasting fire and darkness. Fire makes light, and darkness is opposite of light, so, how can Hell be both?

Fire is a symbol of judgment in the Bible (Mat.3:10; Luke 16:24; 2 Thes.1:8).

Fire is the best symbol that could be used for the reality that Hell is. Hell is a place, and it is also a condition. It is a place of conscious (being aware of) torment, a torment that you cannot escape according to the above Scriptures: everlasting, eternal.

Fire is a weak symbol of the reality of what it means to be lost, to be separated from God forever. A symbol is simply a poor representative of the real thing. The REALITY of HELL far exceeds the descriptions above.

2 Thes. 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: [9] Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; [KJV] . . . To me, these verses symbolize Hell. To be separated from the goodness of God for eternity, that would be Hell!

Things to Consider

#1. IF Heaven is a real, literal place, then maybe Hell too ia an actual, literal place.

#2. IF Hell is real, is it really worth the chance that you might spend eternity there?

#3. IF you could KNOW for certain that you could go to Heaven, would you want to know how?

HOW Can You Get to Heaven?

First of all, you must know that Heaven is NOT a reward for good behavior, and Hell is NOT a punishment for misbehavior. You could NEVER stock up enough "good points" in your entire lifetime to get you access to Heaven. God clearly tells us our "righteousnesses are as filthy rags" (Isaiah 64:6). So, considering this gruesome fact, how do we get in the Door of Heaven?

Well, my friend, there is only ONE Door (Gate) into Heaven and that is Christ Jesus, the Son of Almighty God. Without Him, only Hell awaits.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. [KJV]

Luke 10:9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. (KJV)

The Bible clearly tells us Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Yes, "but how many of my sins" you might ask. ALL of them! The Bible also clearly tells us that we ALL are sinners, and that we ALL will receive death (eternal death, or Hell) without Jesus.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. [KJV] There are some who teach that when we die, we are dead forever. Don’t you believe that "damnable heresy" (2 Peter 2:1). It is a LIE! Our soul is ETERNAL! It will live in one of two places for eternity! Believe this (Eccles.12:7). Too, there are those who teach that everyone will eventually live in Heaven. This too is a blasphemous or heretical LIE! Jesus clearly tells us there will be only a "few" (Mat.7:13-14) who make it Heaven. He also warns us in the very next verse to BEWARE! Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (KJV) . . . Our Lord taught SO much on Hell. WHY?? Because He does NOT want anyone to go there. He warns time and time again of the agony of Hell, yet some people teach "a loving God would not send anyone to Hell." My friend, this too is yet another LIE. When God sends someone to Hell, it is not because He likes it. But, IF He didn’t do as He states in His Word, He would be a "liar" and He is NOT a liar (Titus 1:2).

He clearly tells us who WILL and who WILL NOT be in Heaven.

Rev. 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. [KJV] . . . ALL cowards who turn away from God, all unbelievers, all who insist on living a corrupt life, murderers (1 John 3:15), the immoral, those who practice any form of witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars are doomed to the lake of fire. This is the second death. ALL people will be resurrected; believers will be resurrected to eternal life with God while unbelievers will be resurrected to be punished with a second death, which is eternal separation from God.

Rev. 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. [KJV] . . . NOTHING evil will be allowed to enter Heaven (the New Jerusalem), NO ONE who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty; only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Here’s how you can have your name placed there.

John 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: [13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. [KJV] . . . Only those who believe God and accept His only begotten Son, Jesus, can ever become TRUE children of God.

1 John 5:10-12 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. [KJV] Only those who believe in the Son of God shall ever access Heaven! Those who refuse to believe and reject Jesus are actually calling God a liar because they don't believe what God has testified about His Son. This Passage goes on to tell us exactly WHAT God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is only in His Son. Whosoever believes God, has God's Son and has life (eternal life); and whosoever does NOT believe God does NOT have His Son and does NOT have eternal life. God makes this absolutely clear!

Rev. 22:14-15 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. [15] For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. [KJV] Believing God is foremost in His eyes!

Blessed are those who are washed clean by the Blood of Jesus; for they can enter through the gates of the city and eat the fruit from the tree of life. No access is given to dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idol worshipers, and all who love to live a lie. Those who are shut out of the Kingdom of Heaven are symbolized as "dogs." Paul calls false apostles "dogs" (Phil. 3:2). Persecutors are also called "dogs" (Psalm 22:16).

Below are some Scripture Verses telling us THAT unbelieving sinners will NOT go to Heaven.

Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, [21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. [KJV]

Ephes. 5:5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [KJV]

Rev. 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. [KJV]

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [KJV]

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. [KJV] All who believe in God’s Son have eternal life. Those who refuse to believe and obey the Son will never see eternal life, but the wrath of God remains upon them.

1 John 5:10-12 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. [KJV]

Below are some Scriptures speaking of Atonement, Justification and being Right with God.

Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. [KJV]

1 Cor. 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: [KJV]

Ephes. 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; [KJV]

Col. 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: [KJV]

Col. 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. [KJV]

Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; [KJV]

Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. [KJV]

1 Peter 1:18-19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; [19] But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: [KJV]

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. [KJV]

Rev. 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, [KJV]

Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. [KJV]

ATONEMENT is the removal of God’s punishment for sin through the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; [KJV]

God sent Jesus to the world to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy His anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed His Blood, sacrificing His life for us. God Himself is righteous and He makes us righteous when we believe in Jesus. Nothing to do except BELIEVE!

John 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? [29] Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. (KJV) . . . There is only ONE work we can do to get to Heaven . . . believe on him (Jesus) whom he (God) hath sent. Salvation (eternal life in Heaven) is easy, so easy a child or retarded person can attain it. Just believe God!

WHY JESUS CAN BRIDGE THE GAP

God knows our problem and knows that we could do nothing about it. Because God loves us, He sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to Earth to bridge the gap that separates us from Him.

Although Jesus is God, He chose to leave the comfort of Heaven and the privileges of His deity to live on Earth as a man. Christ "made himself nothing; he took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form. And in human form he obediently humbled himself even further by dying a criminal’s death on a cross" (Phil. 2:7-8).

Jesus did NOT stop being God when He came to Earth. He simply laid aside His divine privileges and walked the Earth as a Man. In this way He was personally able to experience all of our human emotions, ranging from happiness to deep sorrow. He knew what it was like to be tired, sad, cold, and hungry.

The Bible teaches, "Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins" (Hebrews 9:22). Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. [KJV]

The sacrificial rituals in the Old Testament looked forward to what Jesus would do when He came to this Earth. He took the sin of the world upon Himself when He hung on the cross so many years ago.

Jesus knew before He came that He had come specifically to die for the sins of humanity. He also knew that this sacrifice would be made on a Roman cross.

The necessity of the death of Jesus Christ on the cross shows just how bad our situation was as fallen people. You can tell how deep a well is by how much rope you lower. Consider just how much rope God lowered from Heaven. Who is guilty of sending Jesus to the cross? We are just as guilty as the Roman soldiers who put Him on the cross, and the Jewish leaders for manipulating the situation to get Him there. Jesus did not die for us while we were His friends, but while we were His enemies, for we opposed Him by our sins. But in spite of all of this, Jesus demonstrated His love for us by dying on the cross. "[Christ] loved me and gave himself for me" (Galatians 2:20).

When we reject this awesome love, when we refuse to believe God, we are His enemies (Romans 5:10). If you are tempted to doubt God’s love for you, take a long look at the cross on which Jesus died. Then realize that, for all practical purposes, it was not nails that held him to the cross, but love. When anyone refuses God’s love and Jesus’ Sacrifice, only Hell awaits.

Why is there only one Mediator who is qualified to bridge the gap between God and people? Surely there has to be other ways besides Jesus! According to the Bible, which I teach, there is NO OTHER WAY to Heaven except JESUS! I am absolutely convinced of this fact!

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. [KJV]

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. [KJV]

Another important Bible Truth is that Christ Jesus rose from the dead! You must believe Jesus died on the cross for your sins in order to receive eternal life and be a true Christian, but you must also believe He rose again from the dead. 1 Cor. 15:4-7 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: [5] And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: [6] After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. [7] After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. (KJV)

HELL IS REAL!
VERY, VERY REAL!!

Don't let anyone tell you differently.

Hebrews 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? [KJV] . . . Think how much more terrible the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God and have treated His Holy Blood as if it were common and unholy. These people have insulted and enraged the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to His people, and God cannot and will not allow their admittance into Heaven. Only Hell awaits these people.

One of the horrors of Hell is the never ending memory of a misspent life.

Luke 16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. [KJV]

Another one of the horrors is the torture of eternal separation from God.

James Hayes managed an evangelistic booth at a fair. He gave an electronic test to the curious who visited the booth. The test was made up of five questions on the New Testament. If all were answered correctly, sky-blue lights came on spelling "Heaven. "But, if there was one wrong answer, fiery, red lights flashed the word "HELL," ending the test. Only 20 out of 220 persons passed the test. I pray that this won’t be the percentage in reality, for it would mean most people are going to Hell.

God has chosen to give me evangelistic poetry over the years. I do not claim to be a poet. I do not accept any credit for the poems. I simply write down the words He so graciously gives me and then I share them with people everywhere, most of which are prison inmates.

There are times when God gives me these poems, it causes me great distress. I remember asking Him once, several years ago, to show me a little of what Hell was like. At that time, I didn’t feel as if I had enough compassion on the lost souls around me. The poems that came after that prayer about done me in. I was wishing I had never asked such a thing! He truly showed me through those poems "a little of what Hell was like." Now I do have compassion on lost souls, because I know what lies ahead if they do not repent. I have dedicated my life to the Lord as His humble servant, and I do all I can to bring the Truth of the Bible to people.

I don’t care what you have done in the past. I don’t care what you felt in your heart. ALL your sins can be forgiven IFyou simply repent (turn away from) your sins, and turn to God and believe Him!

1 John 1:8-9 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV)

God can and will pardon our sins IF we are truly sincere when we confess our sins. He exonerates us from any condemnation (judgment, Hell) because of the work of Christ. All sins can be forgiven freely (Acts 5:31; 13:38). All you need to do is be sincerely repentant and ask God to forgive you, then Hell will not be your eternal abode.
