False Doctrine

"DAMNABLE HERESIES" ABOUT ANGELS TAUGHT BY NEW AGE NUTS

Interest in angels has soured in 'religions' in North America . . . from mainline Christians to New Agers who supposedly seek comfort from these heavenly helpers in a troubled and often chaotic world.

Many prominent magazines run feature stories on angels: Time, Newsweek, Ladies' Home Journal, Redbook. In 1994, ABC aired a two-hour prime time special entitled Angels: The Mysterious Messengers, hosted by Patty Duke.

Today there are angel boutiques, angel newsletters, angel magazines, angel seminars, angel college courses, angel T-shirts, angel calendars, angel postcards, angel jewelry, and on and on and on! According to Publishers Weekly, at one time during 1993 five of the ten best-selling paperback books were about angels.

New Age channelers (OCCULT) say they can connect you with Michael the Archangel. Absolutely ridiculous! The Bible tells us Truth . . . there is NO such heresy! Michael is mentioned only in Daniel 10:13, 21; 12:1; Jude 9; Rev.12:7 . . . and NONE of these times does the Bible say anything about connecting us with this archangel!

In a poll conducted by Time magazine in late 1993 . . . 69% of American adults believed in angels. 46% acknowledged a belief in their own personal guardian angels. 32% claimed to have felt an angelic presence at some time in their lives.

New Agers are fanatical about angels, bringing in some wild unbiblical ideas about angels. But they are having great appeal in today's 'religious' world. In their New Age literature about angels, they offer people a spirituality that does NOT involve commitment to God or His laws . . . and that makes people happy! So many people see God as far too strict, jealous, judgmental, full of wrath . . . while angels never are. Angels are compassionate, loving and helpful according to New Agers!

New Agers believe "we do not need to be afraid to die . . . for we do not die!" Boy, do they have a BIG surprise coming! Heb. 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (KJV) #1 ALL people die, unless Jesus comes and takes us at the Rapture. That is the ONLY way that you will not die . . . a TRUE born again Christian that is! #2 ALL people shall face God's Judgment, whether they believe the Bible or not! Are you with or without Jesus? Do NOT believe New Agers!

Some of New Age Damnable Heresies!

2 Peter 2:1-2 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. (KJV) DAMNABLE HERESIES!!! And MANY follow their deadly, destructive ways!!!

BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!!

Making Contact . . . There is an endless flow of New Age books telling you how to contact angels. Different methods include channeling, prayer, meditation, visualization, crystals, writing letters, and color-coordinating one's wardrobe. My friend . . . this is nothing more than witchcraft which is utterly condemned in God's Holy Word ( Ex.22:18; Lev.19:31; 20:6; rev.21:8; 22:15). Witchcraft is an abomination to God!

Channeling. New Agers believe they can contact angels directly via channeling (spiritism). This is witchcraft. A person may end up contacting an angel . . . but hear me my friend . . . that "angel" is an evil" angel . . . a demon . . . one of satan's own! It is absolutely NOT a good angel . . . NOT an angel of God!

Prayer. Some contact angels through prayer. New Agers say, "Prayer is the way we talk to angels . . . when you pray to the angels, pray as if it is already done; in other words, thank the angels in advance for taking care of your burdens." Some of these New Agers have at least read portions of the Bible (but it never sank in)! THAT is the way we should pray (talking to GOD) . . . not angels (Mat.6:33; Mark 11:24; James 1:6-8; 4:2-3; 1 John 3:22).

Meditation and visualization induces an altered state of consciousness . . . puts a person right in the devil's lap!

Crystals. A 'cherubic crystal' is a crystal that has been supposedly activated in meditation and which has been charged by the Cherubim. . . . what utter nonsense! To start with, the Cherubim are SPECIAL angels which hold the knowledge of God. They are controlled ONLY by Almighty God, their Creator . . . NEVER by wicked man!

Writing Letters. This is yet another supposed way to communicate with angels . . . writing letters to them ????? More stupidity to me! I don't know where people come up with such ridiculous nonsense! And worse yet . . . angels are to communicate back to us through letters????? Again this is WITCHCRAFT!!! Stay away from it!

Wearing the Right Colors. Another stupid way New Agers say you can call an angel is to color-coordinate your wardrobe. Guardian angels supposedly like rose or pink and soft green; healing angels like deep sapphire blue; seraphim angels like crimson red; cherubim angels like blue; the archangel Michael likes deep green, vivid blue, gold, and rose; and Gabriel is attracted to tans, browns, and dark greens. By wearing specific colors, one can attract specific kinds of angels into one's life.

Comforters. New Agers trust angels that supposedly "comfort us with invisible warm hands, and always they try to give us what we want." TRUE Christians (born again believers) must NOT worship angels! That is what New Agers do! We are to worship God and ONLY God! We are to trust ONLY God! ONLY Almighty God can comfort us, now in this world and in eternity! What a dreadful awakening these idolaters will have one day when the end up in Hades to await Judgment and be cast into the Lake of Fire. See our article on Hades.

New Agers say that Michael the Archangel is a strong proponent of free thinking, and he supposedly encourages people to create their own religions. BEWARE!!! My friend, NO good angel would ever tell you to create your own religion! The Bible does NOT teach this damnable heresy!

I could go on and on with what I consider New Age blasphemy of some of God's wondrous Creation, His angels. There is so much falsehood being taught and worse . . . being readily accepted by the apostate world! But it ALL is unbiblical! NOTHING they teach about angels can be backed up by God's Word! Most angel books contain legend, lore, and absolute occultism! They don't pay any attention to what God's Word says about the subject. We must ALWAYS use the Bible as our standard of Truth (Acts 17:11). The sad thing is that most people think that all angels are good angels. This is NOT true! FAR from it! BEWARE!!!

2 Cor. 11:13-14 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. [14] And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. (KJV) Satan has a horde of demons (fallen angels) and that mimic God's holy angels. WHY? Because Satan hates God and will do anything he can to lead people away from the true Christ and God of the Bible, thus manufacturing doctrines of devils (1 Tim. 4:1-3). This crazy system of demonic theology is today's New Age angelology. BEWARE!!! I cannot warn you strongly enough. These doctrines (damnable heresies (2 Peter 2:1), doctrines of devils) will lead you straight to Hell!

Other "religions" (cults) teaching falsely about angels are: Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Islam, The Church of the New Jerusalem, Anthroposophy, the Self Realization Fellowship, and the Unity School of Christianity. Please consider that the Bible says that TRUE good and holy angels of God NEVER start or promote new religions or give us revelations that contradict God's Word in any way (Ps. 103:20-21; Rev. 22:9). The above religious systems drastically contradict each other on many points of doctrine, thus disproving the reliability of angels as sources of truth.

The Bible says that Satan and his fallen angels seek to thwart the purposes of God and Christ (Rev. 2:10; 1 Pet. 5:8; Eph. 6:11; Mat. 13:39; 1 Tim. 4:1). The Bible also says that fallen angels seek to blind the minds of people to spiritual truth (2 Cor. 4:4; 11:14; 2 Thes. 2:9-10). So very sad that many New Agers have gullibly accepted all "angels" at face value without seeking to "check out their credentials" or consider their motives (Acts 17:11).

We as believers are to try the spirits (1 John 4:1-3). The need for this gift reminds us that not all spirits are good. Just because one has a supposedly positive experience with a spiritual being does NOT mean that that spiritual being is good. We are to sort, sift, and test things (1 Thes. 5:21).

John saw a glorious angel (Rev. 22:8-9), and his first thought was to bow down in worship before it. The holy angel immediately told him to cease such an idolatrous response and to worship only God.

The Bible does have instances where real spirit entities can be contacted via channeling and other occultic means, and that these beings are capable of divulging mystic, occultic information (Acts 16:16-19) . . . but Scripture is consistent in portraying these entities as wicked and deceptive. The information that these spirit entities give is a deceptive mixture of truth and error that their followers are incapable of sorting out, thus entrapping them in a web of deceit. Beware of so-called fortune tellers. What they get is absolutely NOT from God but from the devil!!!

Angels of God care about human spirituality . . . but not a spirituality without God (Rev. 22:9). Angels can give messages from God (Acts 10:3-33) . . . but NEVER new "revelations" that contradict God's Word (Ps. 103:20). God may use angels to answer the prayers of believers (Acts 12:5-10) . . . but angels are NEVER the object of prayer; only God is (Mat. 6:9). Angels can appear to humans (Ge.18:2; 19:1; Luke 2:9). Angels do care about the death of believers (Luke 16:22) . . . but they do not publicize the idea that death is the next step in man's spiritual evolution. Angels do care about man's future (Acts 8:26; 10:1-8; 1 Pet. 1:12) . . . but NEVER a future without God or His laws.

God absolutely condemns anyone seeking any mystic information through occult means (from "angels" or any other spirits). It is a terribly wicked sin that is utterly detestable to Him (Deut. 18:9-12). God will have NO part of it!

God's people NEVER attempt to make contact with an angel by channeling or any other means. In the Bible, the angels show up unexpectedly and shock the human. You must always be wary of angel visits that seem to come from someone's prompting or conjuring. Any angelic visit that comes from someone summoning an angel will be demonic! Angels in the Bible caught the subjects of their visits off guard.

God's Angels: "Ministering Spirits"

New Age angelology focuses on spirit entities that can not only be invoked but also be controlled by humans to bring about their specific desires. The Bible has NONE of this! New Agers do NOT consider God as being the Sovereign King, they think it is humans. This is nothing more than selfishness, pride, and the never-ending desire to exalt self (Isa. 14:12-15; Gen. 3:5). God does not look kindly on human pretenders to the divine throne (Acts 12:20-25). They all shall come to a tragic end!

If a person is wise they will stay far away from New Age angelology. If you are wise, consider their heresies in direct opposition to God's Word. Believe God . . . NOT New Age heresies!!!

Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? (KJV) This is the heart of the true identity of angels! New Agers misuse this. Ministering means to serve. Angels are spirit-servants ONLY of God, who render aid, and this aid is provided ONLY to the heirs of salvation . . . doing God's will in fulfilling His purposes on Earth.

HOW do angels render aid to the heirs of salvation . . . born again believers? They can protect us (Ps. 91:11), they can guide us (Gen. 19:17), they can encourage us (Jud. 6:12), they can deliver us (Acts 12:7), they can supply our needs (Ps. 105:40-41), they can empower us (Luke 22:43), they can also rebuke us (Num. 22:32) and bring God's judgment on us (Acts 12:23). Angelic service provided is mainly unseen and often unrecognized (2 Kings 6:17; Heb. 13:2).

Hebrews 1:14 tells us that angels are sent to provide service to the heirs of salvation. God and God alone specifically sends and appoints HIS angels to carry out tasks on behalf of believers; humans can NEVER summon or control God's angels ever! Angels are NEVER in any sense, greater or more significant than the Divine Sender. And angels NEVER ever take the place of Almighty God!

God's angels act to carry out only God's commands. There's NOT one single Bible verse that represents an elect, holy angel of God acting independently from God . . . NOT one!
Psalms 103:20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. (KJV) God's angels obey ONLY God!

God's holy angels NEVER seek praise or worship for the things they do. In fact, they adamantly discourage it . . . pointing to God as the only One Who is worthy of worship (Rev. 22:9). The apostle Paul flatly condemned the worship of angels in Colossians 2:18. God Himself explicitly commands that only He is to be worshiped (Ex. 20:5-6).

God did NOT make angels to share His power and holiness. They are simply ministers (servants) to do His will to help His children live their lives. We must NEVER divide our faith and trust between God and His creations, the angels . . . .NEVER! God's angels will NEVER lead us away from God . . . but instead to Him! Angels want us to look upon God, call upon God, and proclaim God our Saviour as our sole Helper. Angels are God's Hands that will do NO work without His direction. Angels want us to stay close to our Redeemer and Mediator, Christ, that we may completely depend upon Him, lean upon Him, have peace through Him, and rest in Him.
